GeoStabilizer Rock Bond Polymer
Decorative rock & gravel bonding
Rock Bond is a separate rock-and-pebble bonding product. Its directions differ from GeoStabilizer soil Concentrate and Pre-Mixed.
- Dilution
- Apply directly without added water
- Small, tightly packed gravel
- Preliminary estimate: 100–150 sq ft / gallon
- Medium decorative rock
- Preliminary estimate: 75–125 sq ft / gallon
- Larger rock with significant voids
- Determine by test application
Recommended applications
Designed to bond decorative rock, gravel, and pebbles together, helping reduce movement, scattering, and displacement. Suitable project types include decorative landscape rock beds, gravel and pebble landscaping, garden borders, planter areas, ornamental rock installations, and decorative stone around trees and shrubs.
Prepare the rock
- Remove leaves, dirt, weeds, and loose debris.
- Ensure the rock is clean and completely dry.
- Level and arrange the rock to the desired appearance.
- Remove standing water. Avoid applying immediately before rain.
- Test a small section to confirm appearance and bonding performance.
- Stir or mix the product thoroughly as directed on the container.
Choose compatible equipment
Use a chemical-compatible handheld pump sprayer or a battery-powered garden sprayer rated for the concentrate for smaller areas. For larger areas, use a commercial low-pressure system or powered sprayer with compatible seals, hoses, and nozzles. Confirm compatibility before use.
How to apply
- Fill the compatible sprayer with undiluted Rock Bond Polymer.
- Adjust the nozzle to an even spray pattern.
- Hold the wand approximately 12–18 inches above the rock, adjusting to minimize mist and overspray.
- Apply slowly in overlapping passes, allowing product to reach contact points between adjacent stones.
- Spread uniformly. Do not pour an entire gallon into one location.
- Avoid excessive puddling and runoff.
- If more bonding is needed, confirm the appropriate recoat conditions with GeoStabilizer before applying a second coat.
Coverage, drying, and curing
The coverage figures above are preliminary planning estimates, not guaranteed rates. Consumption depends on rock size, porosity, depth, and the binder required. Determine coverage for larger rock with significant void space by a test application.
Let the treated surface dry and cure undisturbed. Curing depends on temperature, humidity, application thickness, and weather. A specific curing time and second-coat interval have not yet been verified in the supplied directions. Obtain product-specific guidance before traffic, irrigation, or recoating. Do not apply when rain is expected before curing is complete.
Important precautions
Apply only to clean, dry rock. Do not dilute unless specifically directed by GeoStabilizer. Avoid overspray onto vehicles, glass, painted surfaces, and adjacent pavement. Test appearance and adhesion before treating large areas.
Decorative rock bonding does not establish a structurally rated or slip-resistant walking surface. Review the current label and Safety Data Sheet before handling.
